We are a community of coaching practitioners, researchers, and education professionals who believe in creating more human-centred ways of being, learning and working in higher education. Our members come from over 70 institutions, bringing diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas about how coaching-informed practice can create space for people to feel heard, think deeply, develop, connect and thrive.
Our mission
To create a collaborative space where expertise in coaching as an educational practice is shared, developed, and championed within higher education. We aim to support colleagues to embed coaching into learning, teaching, leadership, and student support practices.
Whether you're an experienced coach, an academic exploring coaching approaches, or a professional supporting students or staff, there’s a place for you here. Together, we are shaping the future of coaching in higher education.
Why we exist
Higher education is fundamentally about people. We believe coaching can help us create cultures where people feel heard, valued and able to grow – and where curiosity, connection and meaningful conversations have space to flourish.
The Network exists to bring people together to explore, develop and champion these ways of being and working, helping to make human-centred, coaching-informed practice a valued part of higher education.

Our Pillars
Connect
At the heart of the Coaching in Higher Education Network is connection. We bring together practitioners, researchers, educators and leaders who share a belief in more human-centred ways of being, learning and working in higher education. By connecting people across roles, institutions and experiences, we create space for meaningful conversations, shared learning and new possibilities, grounded in the belief that people and relationships matter.
Share
Our Network creates spaces for members to share openly and learn from one another through Development Groups, events, resources and collaborative conversations. We value lived experience, practical wisdom and emerging ideas alongside formal research, recognising that everyone has something to contribute. By sharing with curiosity and generosity, we create opportunities for new thinking, collaboration and collective learning.
Development
Development is about creating the conditions for people, practice and cultures to grow. We believe coaching-informed approaches can help create more reflective, relational and human-centred environments where people feel valued, have agency and are supported to develop. Through the Network, we learn with and from one another, deepen our practice and explore new possibilities for how we learn, lead and work together in higher education.

Jelena Matic
Founder of the Coaching in Higher Education Network
I’m passionate about the power of good conversations, curiosity, and collaboration. What began as an idea in November 2024 has since grown into a thriving network of equally passionate individuals who come together to connect, share, and develop.
In my day job, I work as a Senior Educational Developer at Nottingham Trent University, and I’m excited to bring that experience into this space. I really look forward to meeting you and learning from your perspectives!
